First Day of School

Three years have gone by since the Apple twins were born and they were finally old enough to go to preschool.
Apple Turnover, 2 minutes older then his sister Apple Blossom, was looking forward to tease his sister when nopony else was looking so he won't get into trouble.
But Apple Blossom, was looking forward to meet the other little ponies, though at first, she would feel rather uncomfortable talking to them.
When Fluttershy and Big Mac were walking with them to the schoolhouse, they can tell that their little girl was feeling scared, especially with her brother, with whom they constantly told, not to make fun of his sister.
But he never listened, because he felt that making fun of his sister was the best way to get his parents' attention.
He always felt that his mother and father are always defending her, when he got into trouble.
"She must think that she must be a very special somepony because Ma and Pa like her best," he thought bitterly.
When they reached the schoolhouse, they were greeted by Ms. Gentlehoof, the teacher for preschool.
"Ah Mr. and Mrs. Apple, and these must be your darling children", she said.
"Um, hi Ms. Gentlehoof, I'm Apple Blossom and this is my brother Apple Turnover", said the little Pegasus filly shyly.
"Hi Apple Turnover hi Apple Blossom", said Jelly Sandwich greeting her friends.
"It's time for us to go Big Mac" said Fluttershy.
"Have fun you two."
"Apple Turnover, be nice to your sister", said  Big Mac.
"Have a good day Little Sapling, your mother and I love you very much."
Apple Blossom had always loved the pet name her father gave her, because it always made her feel happy whenever she felt sad.
"I love you and Mama too Daddy", she said as he kissed her cheek.
After all of the parents had gone, Ms. Gentlehoof began to teach the class.
All through out the day, Apple Turnover and some of the other foals at school, except Jelly, began to make fun of Apple Blossom for being a blank flank, even though her brother, is a blank flank himself.
"When I tell Mama and Daddy", Apple Blossom began to say, but was cut off by her brother.
"You're gonna tell Ma and Pa what? That I'm teasing you? You never told them on me they just saw me teasing you. You're not a snitch are you?" he asked.
Apple Blossom gulped at the sight of her brother's green eyes.
When school was over, Fluttershy and Big Mac picked up their children and took them home.
When Apple Blossom went up to her room, she can still her brother and his friends saying in her head over and over, "Not a special somepony."
She let the tears she was holding in, finally escape from her eyes.
Hearing their daughter's crying, Fluttershy and Big Mac quietly came upstairs to her room.
"Apple Blossom?" said her mother.
"Mama, Daddy, I'm fine, there's nothing wrong, but can I not go to preschool anymore?" Apple Blossom said in tears.
"Little Sapling, what's the matter?" asked her father with concern.
"I can't tell you two, my future is at stake ok?" the little filly said sadly.
"Little Sapling, you know you can tell me and your mother anything", Big Mac said with love.
"Your father's right, whatever is bothering you, we'll always understand", Fluttershy added.
"Ok, Apple Turnover and the other foals at school were making fun of me for being a blank flank, and they also said that I'm not special and that I can't do anything right", said Apple Blossom.
"Little Sapling, don't say things like that. No matter what you do, and no matter who's making fun of you, I just want you to know that your brother doesn't mean what he says, deep down he's got the heart of an Apple. And you'll always be a very special somepony to us because you do have something special", said her father smiling.
"Do you promise me you'll never forget that?"
"I promise Daddy", said his daughter.
"We'll have a little talk with your brother. But first, let's get you to bed it's getting late", said her father.
Big Mac, holding his daughter close to his chest, began to sing the lullaby he sang to her since she was a baby.
"My sweet little sapling you mean so much to me and my heart. You and I will be so close I never want to part. Someday my love will see you through. I will be there whatever you do. No matter what happens I'll always be with you."
Big Mac's eyes gleamed at his sleeping daughter and tucked her in and gently placed a kiss on her forehead.
"Sweet dreams my Little Sapling", he whispered softly in her ear.
Just before they left, Fluttershy and Big Mac saw their son come into his sister's room, and say, "I'm sorry for teasing you today can you forgive me?"
"Of course I can big brother", said his sister sleepily.
